External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar is arranged to satisfy his Russian equivalent Sergei Lavrov here on Monday to go over bilateral ties ahead of President Vladimir Putin’s New Delhi check out next month.
According to Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova, Jaishankar is showing up here to lead the Indian delegation at the conference of Council of Prime Ministers of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) on Tuesday.
Pakistan, likewise a member of SCO, will be represented by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar. According to sources, there is no arrangement for his bilateral conference with Jaishankar.
According to Kremlin sources, Putin is set up to satisfy the leaders of the SCO, hosted by Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin.
China, Russia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan are charter members of the SCO which was later on broadened by confessing India, Pakistan, Iran and Belarus as complete members.
