The Harrington Family is Dianes debut book. She wrote the book for young adult readers but believes adults will enjoy it. At its heart, the book reflects relevant values and themes many families can relate to. Author
Diane Ellis was born in Washington, DC, on May 11, 1946, the third of five children. She never thought about writing a book, but she liked to read a lot and read many books after she retired.

One day, she was reading a book that Danielle Steele wrote and wondered if she could find similar books. Diane decided to write one and told herself that if she liked the book, she would have it published. She wanted what she was writing, so when she finished writing the book, Diane called a publishing company and asked if they could read her book and see if it was good.

The Harrington Family is Dianes first book. She likes it and hopes that it does well. Diane says, This book is for the ages between young and older adults. I think the younger and even the older adults could read this book and enjoy it.

Dianes book is all about a close family; they do things together and want to help anyone who needs help. They work together to help things run smoothly in their household, and the siblings get along very well. The siblings like to hang out together and do things together, which is what a family should do. According to Diane, it is different from the kind of family she came from. Her family was close when they were younger, but they mostly went their separate ways as they got older.
