NEW YORK, AUGUST 15, 2023 –Blackbird Foods, the brand founded by chefs with the best hand-tossed frozen pizzas 100% made from plants, has expanded availability in Whole Foods Market. Blackbird’s Margherita, Supreme, and Buffalo frozen pizzas are now rolling out in the Southern Pacific region of Whole Foods which includes stores in SoCal, Arizona, Southern Nevada, and Hawaii.
This launch is particularly exciting for Blackbird as it includes their new Buffalo Pizza made in collaboration with Daring. “I’m particularly excited about this partnership with Daring, as we are demonstrating that plant-based brands can take on harmful industrial animal farming with a united front.” said Emanuel Storch, Blackbird’s CEO when asked about the collaboration.
As the newest addition to Blackbird’s popular line of frozen pizzas, Buffalo packs a flavorful punch with creamy buffalo sauce, vegan cheese, fresh onions, and Daring’s Plant Chicken. This past spring it launched in Sprouts stores nationwide. With the roll out in Whole Foods SoPac, Blackbird is thrilled that more consumers will have the opportunity to try Buffalo Pizza. It’s already a popular pizza variety for the plant-based brand, particularly with consumers that enjoy spicy flavors.
With a New York-style hand-tossed crust made from overnight rising dough, Blackbird pizzas taste like they have been delivered straight from your favorite pizzeria. Their Supreme is topped with sage and fennel sausage crumbles, fresh green peppers, and red onions while Margherita is simply crafted with their signature tomato sauce, vegan cheese, fresh garlic, and basil leaves.
Blackbird Foods is also available in two additional Whole Foods regions. Buffalo Pizza joins their pizzas and plant-based meat, seitan, currently on shelf at Whole Foods in the Southwest region. This includes stores in Texas, Louisiana, Oklahoma, and Arkansas. Blackbird seitan is also available in Whole Foods stores in the Northeast.
