According to the Sani-Powder website, hypochlorous acid (HOCl) is a naturally-occurring disinfectant found in all mammals as part of their natural immune response to fight off infections. The granular hypochlorous acid produced by Sani-Powder works the same way in that it kills a vast spectrum of bacteria, viruses, spores, and other microorganisms but without harmful chemicals, fumes or residues commonly associated with traditional disinfectants.
