Unique algorithms ensure that these headlines are clustered under relevant topics and duplicates are removed automatically. The algorithm also displays trending news and popular news in each section. These headlines are regularly updated automatically.

When asked the founder how he has kept is burn rate so low; this is his response “What you see is an complete product with jigsaw pieces together. I have identified multiple start-ups who provide various technologies. These are integrated to run Newzz. I pay them to use their technologies. Apart from them, I also have a few freelancers for various tasks. The combined cost of everything is less than USD 100 per month.”

Also we asked how he intends to compete with big players with his limited budget, he mentioned that “While a few large players exist with a lot of users, my objective is to turn profitable faster with fewer users. Currently my costs of operations are the lowest. As on Oct 2020, we are already profitable.”

Google Analytics data showed that more than 200,000 users have viewed a total of 400,000 pages in a 30 day period. Apart from the homepage, more than 20,000 unique news articles have been read. The bounce rate of their traffic is less than 30% which is lowest as compared to the industry average of more than 70%.

Newzz is the latest entrant in the content aggregation space which is dominated by Dailyhunt, NewsDog, Flipboard, etc. All these are huge players with deep pockets in this segment. It will be interesting to see how bootstrapped start-up is able to gain traction in this crowded, but lucrative content-aggregation space. Newzz also has an Android and iOS app.

What differentiates Newzz from the competition is its unique algorithm that groups similar headlines under a single topic. This gives users the flexibility to read more related news or simply skip the topic. Absence of advertisements or pop-ups or banner ads makes the website very fast to load. The website also does not request any sign-ups to view its content. It is completely FREE for everyone. Since the headlines are collected only from reliable online media, the possibility of fake news coming up on this website is negligible. Each piece of news published on this website is easily shareable through various social media channels.

In the future, Newzz intends to provide hyper-local content in 10+ Indian languages. It will not be a mere translation of the English site. The content provided will be relevant to each user based on the language chosen. The founder also wishes to have a long term content distribution partnership with content providers.
