The Federation of Royal Maya is a small Caribbean nation of several thousand people — including the islands of Cayo Fragoso and Cayo Pajonal and, as of October 2018, the residents of the Boriken nation in Puerto Rico — that was officially made independent from Cuba in 1997. That secret of Royal Maya came to an end on May 28, 2018, when Royal Maya’s leader King Philip IV and the people of Royal Maya made a unanimous Declaration of Independence of the Federation of Royal Maya from the Republic of Cuba. Royal Maya cited Cuba for negligence and not living up to its 1997 agreement, signed by Fidel Castro to create a cohesive relationship with the independent nation of The Federation of Royal Maya. The new treaty with the Boriken, is a sign of hope for a brighter future for its new citizens on the island of Puerto Rico and the Federation as a whole The Mayan people are an indigenous group that number more than 7 million around the globe, and include the 1.3 million Mayans in Puerto Rico. There are large Mayan populations in Mexico, Guatemala, Belize, the United States, and many other islands and countries. PUERTO RICO’S FINANCIAL CRISISPuerto Rico has long been plagued by economic woes. During the four-centuries-long Spanish occupation of the island, Puerto Rico was seen as little more than a producer of cash crops, from sugar to tobacco, planted and collected by slave labor and small farmers. The financial crisis that is presently gutting the island of Puerto Rico has been playing out for the past 18 months. The sale of its municipal funds and its constitutionally guaranteed promise of repayment to investors has plunged the island into a very precarious situation for its millions of citizens, and the opportunity of a lifetime for hedge fund vultures. Make no mistake, Puerto Rico needs relief, and it needs it now. The Federation of Royal Maya’s independence from Cuba and its treaty with the Boriken people offer hope for a brighter future for its citizens in Puerto Rico, including increased prosperity, freedom and stability:• Efforts can move forward to grow economy, increase prosperity and stability in Puerto Rico• Royal Maya will work to form a strategic alliance with the United States and support its efforts in the Caribbean region• Royal Maya will grow its relationships with other countries in the Caribbean region• Areas targeted for economic growth on Puerto Rico include: Island infrastructure in sectors such as energy, transportation, education, housing and healthcare• Economic goals will be increased wages, lower unemployment and development of commercial and industrial industries• Exports will be a focus, and new trade agreements with the U.S. and other free countries will be sought, with the goal of growing U.S. and regional businesses into Royal Maya• The Federation of Royal Maya will promote democratic principles, free markets and self-determination among its peoples WHAT IS THE NATION OF THE BORIKEN?
The Boriken people include descendants of the original tribal bands that settled in Puerto Rico. Their ancestors are Central American and South American Indians who colonized the islands of the Caribbean. Boriken people can be found today in Puerto Rico, Santo Domingo/Haiti, Jamaica, Cuba, the Bahamas and Florida.Life changed for the Boriken people upon the arrival of Christopher Columbus and others who colonized the land and decimated the population with violence and disease. Dr. Benjamin Angueira, President of the Council of Ministers of the Boriken nation, announced the recent treaty between the Nation of the Boriken, State of Nemenhah and the Federation of Royal Maya, executed and accepted by his Majesty, King Philip IV, signed and accepted on October 17, 2018, Nation of the Boriken in Puerto Rico has pledged loyalty to Federation of Royal Maya, subject to any original conditions the Boriken have regarding their original territorial status with the United States.
