About the author:

Jacquie (Jack) Monig is a 56-year-old woman who currently works in the automotive industry as a Business Manager, setting up car loans and selling aftermarket products such as extended warranties, rust packages, and insurances. She has been in this field for the past 27 years, working with various manufacturers. Before that, she worked as a Police Officer for 7 years.

In 2010, her employer at the time cut her pay during one of her best sales months ever, despite leading her zone, district, and the country in extended warranty penetration. This made her feel undervalued, and she came to a dead stop, questioning what she was doing, and feeling a sudden deep depression. She went to the doctor for some kind of prescription to make her feel better. Instead, she left with a phone number to a lawyer. She called the lawyer and paid the $2,000 retainer to find out her rights, as she wanted to take a leave of absence to ride her motorcycle. She found an online company, and a dream trip of motorcycling from London, England, to Magadan, Russia (after seeing Charley Boorman and Ewan McGregor, this was her dream trip), was leaving in 30 days.
