Dalmia Bharat, along with Sabhyata Foundation, its implementation partner for heritage initiatives at the Red Fort, has welcomed the opening of Indic Inspirations’ Museum Store & Experience Centre at the Red Fort Visitor Centre in New Delhi. The new store builds on efforts to enrich the visitor experience at the UNESCO World Heritage Site by connecting its historical legacy with India’s living traditions, craftsmanship and contemporary cultural expressions.

Housed in a restored British-era building within the Red Fort, the Visitor Experience Centre features a museum, film screenings, augmented and virtual reality experiences, a restaurant and retail offerings. Indic Inspirations adds to this experience with a curated range of memorabilia, souvenirs and collectibles celebrating India’s contributions to mathematics and science, astronomy, Ayurveda, yoga, dance and music, as well as its maritime history. Its offerings also showcase modern India through products inspired by the Constitution and national flag, Indian Railways, space exploration and defence institutions. Through its #IndicObjects, the cultural enterprise brings these stories to life through Indian arts and crafts, design and artisanal craftsmanship. Indic Inspirations also plans to host regular art and craft workshops, offering domestic and international visitors’ hands-on opportunities to explore India’s artistic traditions. The store additionally features products from other Indian cultural enterprises, bringing together a diverse selection of homegrown creations under one roof.

Speaking about the initiative, Mrs. Avantika Dalmia, Co-Chairperson of the Advisory Board, Sabhyata Foundation, said, “The Red Fort is a living symbol of our Unity and cultural legacy. At Sabhyata Foundation, we strive to create meaningful experiences that bring this legacy closer to visitors. Indic Inspirations furthers this vision by celebrating India’s rich crafts.”

The store was inaugurated by the Chief Guest Ms. K. Nandini Singla, IFS, Director General, Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR). The programme included a collaborative art experience in which guests added their brushstrokes to a 4 ft × 4 ft Gond painting inspired by the Red Fort, alongside Ms. Singla, under the guidance of Padma Shri awardee Gond artist Bhajju Shyam and artist Deepa Shyam. Guests also experienced the internationally acclaimed ‘Jai Hind’ Sound and Light Show, which presents key moments from India’s history through live performances and immersive storytelling.

Indic Inspirations previously operated phygital retail stores at Pune and Bengaluru airports. Its entry into the Red Fort marks its first store at a World Heritage Site, with plans to expand to other heritage destinations across India.

The initiative reflects the potential of heritage destinations to bring together conservation, cultural discovery and creative entrepreneurship.
