The rock band tapped Tony Hawk, Giovanni Ribisi, Michael Peña, Rob Riggle, and Rob Huebel for the throwback clip

Weezer collected a multitude of visitor stars for the raucous video for their brand-new single “C.E.O.” The band, who will reveal their 20th studio LP,Weezer,on Aug. 21, got Tony Hawk, Curry Barker, Dax Flame, Chit, Rob Riggle, Rob Huebel, Michael Peña, Giovanni Ribisi, and Christopher Mintz-Plasse.

The meta clip admires their timeless 1994 video for “Undone (The Sweater Song).” Huebel and Riggle play a set of stereotyped CEOs enjoying Weezer shoot a video in front of a gold background, rather of the initial blue. Frontman Rivers Cuomo grumbles about being stuck in the past, informing them, “We’ve done this previously.” The band stops when the director launches a swarm of bees onto the set (the initial clip included canines), just to be changed by look-alikes.

“Cranking out another Nineties jam,” Cuomo intones on the track. “Wish I might do something brand-new/ But no one wishes to hear that/ They simply desire the classics/ You can’t blame ’em, actually/ There’s something unique about your early shit.”

The artist just recently described the motivation behind the track toWandererstating, “I was regreting the truth that I’m discovering myself in this function that does not actually deal with being an artist. Everybody liked the tune, however no one liked that line. We wound up externalizing it– it’s like I’ve externalized this part of myself that’s reducing the celebration.”
