The Security Bureau held an interdepartmental pre-typhoon tabletop workout today (April 28) at the Emergency Monitoring and Support Centre (EMSC) in the Central Government Offices to improve the emergency situation action and partnership of bureaux, departments and other celebrations worried in managing possible emergency situation scenarios if Hong Kong is struck by a very tropical cyclone and/or heavy rainstorm.

According to the Hong Kong Observatory’s projection, about 4 to 7 cyclones are anticipated to come within 500 kilometres of Hong Kong this year. The cyclone season is anticipated to begin in June or later on and stop in October or previously.
