Queen+ Adam Lambert have not carried out given that their Rhapsody world trip finished up at Japan’s Tokyo Dome on Feb. 14, 2024. And in a brand-new interview with The Timesguitar player Brian May exposed the band will not ever go back to the roadway.
“I decided 18 months ago that I didn’t wish to visit once again,” May stated. “A close household good friend passed away when we remained in the States, so I stated to my trip supervisor, ‘I’ll simply nip home for a couple of days and return.’ She looked me in the eyes and stated, ‘You understand you can’t do that.’ I like to play, I enjoy to take a trip, however the compromise is compromising your flexibility. I have a better half [the actress Anita Dobson]grandchildren and a great deal of astrophysics I wish to do, so I’m believing possibly 50 years suffices.”
He’s not, nevertheless, dismissing other methods to bring Queen’s music into big common areas.” We do wish to do something relatively advanced,” May stated.”Not as ABBA did, however along those lines … Last year I went to the Sphere, my juices began streaming and I strategized an entire Queen program. I believe an immersive experience is still on the cards and it might dominate time and area, however presently you can’t make it without AI and I have severe misgivings about that … Data centers are a huge evil and need to be battled. “
In September 2025, May informed Wanderer that he was merely tired with life on the roadway, though he wasn’t rather prepared at that time to permanently rule it out, as he’s now done. “I’ve had 50 years of touring and there’s a part of me that believes it’s enough,” he stated.” I do not like the concept that you get up in your hotel space and you’re caught. I had a couple of experiences just recently where things occurred at home with my household and I might not go home. It got under my skin and I simply believed, ‘I’m not exactly sure if I desire this any longer.’ I seem like I’ve quit my flexibility a lot of times. My sensation at the minute is I do not desire to explore. I still wish to play programs. I still wish to innovate.”
In January of this year, May informed the Daily Mail that he didn’t wish to cross the Atlantic for programs due to the fact that “America is a harmful location at the minute.” “It’s really unfortunate since I seem like Queen matured in America and we enjoy it, however it’s not what it was,” he stated. “Everyone is hesitating about going there at the minute.”
This does not imply the members of Queen + Adam Lambert are going to stay non-active. Drummer Roger Taylor just recently launched his solo LP Violence Insane in a Beautiful Worldand Lambert dropped his own album, Adam, in July. He likewise honored George Michael at the MTV Video Music Awards last month with an efficiency of “Freedom! ’90.”
