Apple is supposedly dealing with touch-sensitive cases for future iPhone Pros

Modular phones never ever took off and cases that include performance are quite uncommon– perhaps that is due to the fact that Apple hasn’t taken a fracture at it. Leakster Immediate Digital states that “Apple will invest greatly in main protective cases in the future”.

The objective is to change the cases into “2nd touch user interfaces”. What does that suggest? The leakster is quite unclear about it. Is it a full-blown 2nd touchscreen like LG and Asus have made in the past? It does not seem like it. Will it be a touch pad like the ones we see on iPad keyboard covers? Uncertain.

Obviously, the objective is to include brand-new functions to iPhone Pros and make them “a lot more Pro”. iPhones currently have the Camera Control, which is a capacitive touch location that serves lots of functions. It’s not a Pro-exclusive function and, even worse, it’s not especially popular.

This might be a method for Apple to ditch physical secrets on its phones– something that Apple has actually been reported to be dealing with for many years now– and change them with inputs on the case.

Apple has a fascinating patent entitled”Case with input for electronic gadget “. Its description checks out: “For example, a case can supply an electromechanical touch sensing unit to supply the user with an input system that does not need actuation of the button of the electronic gadget. The electronic gadget, upon finding the existence of the case, can disable several buttons and carry out actions representing the buttons when signals are gotten from the case.”

By the method, the next Pro designs are being available in fall 2026, while the vanilla design will be revealed half a year later on.
