We are thrilled to introduce you to the incredibly talented and insightful Livva Jones. Her journey as an artist and a music therapist is nothing short of inspiring. Let’s dive into our conversation with Livva and learn more about her unique experiences and perspective.

Livva, you’ve undoubtedly faced challenges as an artist and creative. Can you share a recent moment when you contemplated what it would be like to have a regular job? Did this experience offer you any valuable insights?

Livva: Absolutely, there have been times when I wondered what life would be like if I pursued a different career path. But the thought of not being an artist leaves me feeling empty. Music has transformed me into a happier and more grateful person. Creating and sharing my music with others gives me an incredible sense of fulfillment. It has taught me that true happiness comes from within, and finding joy in what you do is essential.

Your journey from a young child singing along to your walkman to becoming a pop-country recording artist and music therapist is truly remarkable. Could you give our readers a glimpse of your musical journey and how you ended up pursuing music therapy?

Livva: My musical journey began at a very young age, surrounded by various genres and artists thanks to my family’s influence. I joined choruses and pursued private voice and piano lessons. However, it wasn’t until I faced the loss of my great-grandma during high school that I turned to music for emotional healing. This pivotal moment led me to start writing my own songs.

As I became more serious about my musical path, country music spoke to me, and I fell in love with its storytelling essence. My dream of becoming an artist became a reality with the support of the amazing team at ET Studio Productions. But my journey didn’t stop there. I wanted to combine my passion for music and healing others, and that’s when I discovered music therapy. Witnessing the powerful impact of music on people’s lives, especially through a heartwarming YouTube video, convinced me that music therapy was my calling.

You’ve faced numerous challenges in the past three years, both professionally and personally. How has music played a role in helping you cope and heal through these difficult times?

Livva: These past three years have indeed been a rollercoaster of emotions, from dealing with grief to managing my own health struggles. Throughout it all, music has been my anchor, providing solace and a means of expression. Whether it’s singing, playing the piano, or songwriting, music has allowed me to process and release the weight of my emotions. It has been an essential tool for healing, growth, and reflection, and it has also given me the ability to inspire others who may be facing their own challenges.

Your passion for connecting with others through your music is truly commendable. How do you handle criticism and negative comments that sometimes come with being an artist in the public eye?

Livva: Being in the music industry means exposing your deepest emotions and true self, which can make you vulnerable to criticism. While it can be difficult to handle negativity, I remind myself that my music is meant to inspire and heal. Knowing that my work has positively impacted even one person makes it all worth it. However, I do believe that kindness is essential, and we should strive to be more understanding and supportive of each other’s art and endeavors.

Your journey is filled with incredible life lessons. Is there a particular lesson you had to unlearn, and what’s the story behind it?

Livva: One significant lesson I had to unlearn is comparing myself to other artists and creatives. It’s a struggle that many of us face, and it stemmed from the unrealistic standards set by society. Over time, I learned to embrace my uniqueness and recognize that we all have our own beautiful qualities. Embracing authenticity and celebrating individuality has been a liberating experience for me.

As we wrap up, what advice would you like to share with aspiring artists and anyone pursuing their dreams?

Livva: I’d like to pass on the wise words of my vocal coach and mentor, Laura Monaco, who once told me, “Dare to suck.” Pursuing your dreams involves taking risks and pushing beyond your comfort zone. Don’t let anyone belittle your ambitions. Embrace the journey, and remember that life is too short to live in regret. Be true to yourself and follow your passion with unwavering determination.

Thank you, Livva, for sharing your incredible journey and insights with us. We wish you continued success in your music career and your impactful work as a music therapist.
