Louis Panagotopulos had his book, Great Mandala, exhibited at the 2023 Los Angeles Times Festival of Books, held at the University of Southern California, Los Angeles, last April 22-23, 2023.
The book display was made possible by the self-publishing and book marketing company, ReadersMagnet. The company exhibited hundreds of titles, along with Panagotopuloss Great Mandala, at the largest book festival in the country, which attract approximately 150,000 festival-goers from all over the globe.
Great Mandala begins in the early 1970s where the world is beset by overpopulation, cancer, nuclear arms race, sexism, racism, and total atheism. Kate and Robbie are activists fighting for peace, for justice, for the environment. After decades of fighting on the front lines for what they believed in, they are now experiencing the consequences of their past actions.
They question if they did the right thing by not bringing children into this terrible world. Kate suffers from an illness that worsens as she gets older. Robbie has to work to keep the insurance. Who will take care of them in their elder years.
Great Mandala is a chronicle of the past fifty years. It provides a glimpse of a world that was and, in spite of the sacrifices by people like Kate and Robbie, is still falling apart. Yet, in the end, a nieces newborn child gives hope for the future.

Authors Biography
Before writing his first novel, Louis Panagotopulos worked over twenty years as an engineer in Boston-area electronics companies. Small eastern Massachusetts towns and the blue-collar and middle-class people residing there, serve as the settings and characters for his stories. His short stories have been published in Solstice Literary Magazine and Husson Universitys Crosscut. Great Mandala is his fifth novel.
