Iskandar Investment Berhad (IIB) was celebrated today as the official supporting partner of L’etape Malaysia 2022 by Tour de France. The announcement was made at the French Pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai during a business briefing.
L’Etape, by Tour de France, is the only cyclosportive series that allows amateur cyclists to experience the Tour de France experience, under the same race conditions, in different destinations around the world. Currently, it is hosted in 14 countries including China, Thailand, Mexico, Brazil, Australia and now Malaysia.
The inaugural edition of the L’Etape Malaysia by Tour de France will be held on June 4th, 2022 at the Desaru Coast resort in Johor Malaysia, where the race will start. L’Etape Malaysia offers a 140km route for elite cyclists and a 60km route for amateur cyclists.
This partnership aligns with IIB’s vision of creating a sustainable metropolis by promoting lifestyle and signature placemaking campaigns. Iskandar Puteri is developed by IIB and is a local hot spot attracting cyclists from near and far due to its cycling lanes, wide roads and safety features. To help cyclists prepare for the L’Etape Malaysia 2022, IIB to gether with L’e tape launched the Ride Iskandar Puteri campaign, allowing participants and those planning to register the opportunity to train for their first L’e tape Malaysia by Tour de France. As an added benefit, participants in the Ride Iskandar Puteri campaign will receive a discount or rebate on their race registration, depending on their registration status.

Through this partnership we want to inspire more citizens to embrace cycling as well as cement Iskandar Puteri as a cycling destination, balancing business and lifestyle and a choice investment destination in the ASEAN region.”
To celebrate IIB’s participation at Expo 2020, Dubai, IIB is giving cycling enthusiasts in the UAE and the world a chance to win a 3-day 2-night stay at the Legoland Malaysia Hotel, Iskandar Puteri, Johor with access to Legoland Theme Park, Legoland Water Park, and Legoland Sea Life .
To enter the campaign, participants must cycle a minimum of 60 kilometres and record their performance on the Strava app. Next, register to participate in L’e tape Malaysia 2022 by Tour de france and post your ticket with your Strava results on Instagram by following and tagging @IskandarInvestmentBerhad with the hashtags: #rideiniskandar #iskandarnext #letapemalaysia2022. The campaign closes on April 4th, 2022.
L’etape Malaysia is co-organised by MUSE Group and Sport Johor, with the support of the Johor state government. We have received a strong response of over 2,700 participants to date and we are confident of achieving our target of 4,000 participants for the 2022 instalment of L’Etape Malaysia. Registration to the event is still open until early May.
