Sharon Watkins announces release of the first of ten songs; Proud “an incredibly moving ballad, a must for anyone who ever had their heart broken and stayed true to themselves!”.
Sharon is the up and coming British singer / songwriter that ventured off to the USA for 8 years developing her pop style ballads after winning the UK Northern Songwriters Competition. Born in Manchester, Sharon has travelled and lived all over the world and is now living in Nottingham, where she recorded the album at Superfly Studios.
She debuts her much-anticipated, first single Proud on 28th January 2022; a rollercoaster pop-ballad, which takes us on a journey from betrayal and heartbreak back through to triumphant recovery and an inspiring ending.
Proud has already been accepted onto multiple radio stations, press outlets and playlists ahead of launch in January, as well as being featured on the Musicalizar top 9 song releases for January 2022 (350K followers).
Sharon has collaborated with some of the best musicians on the scene to create a music-forward, 10-track album that will be released as singles over the course of 2022. Collaborators on the album include: Bryan Corbett (trumpeter to the Brand New Heavies), “Bebee” Aldridge (sax player to Gary Barlow & Macklemore), Sam Miller (Sound Engineer to Razorlight & No. 1 album “The Trick to Life” by the Hoosiers) and Sammy J Stopford (session drummer to Abbey Road, Glastonbury and has also featured on Radio 1).
