Mike Healy has been inducted into Marquis Who’s Who. As in all Marquis Who’s Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of the current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Excelling for more than a decade in the clean energy industry, Mr. Healy has garnered a laudable reputation as a proven leader in the clean energy industry. Well-regarded in his field, he serves in executive and advisory positions with the Chesapeake Solar and Storage Association (CHESSA), ConnectDER Inc., Renewables Forward, the Virginia Advanced Energy Industries Coalition, and was a founding member of Nextility, Inc. Additionally, Mr. Healy serves as the Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer of New Columbia Solar, a Washington, DC based solar energy company that develops, finances, owns, and operates solar projects located on commercial, industrial, multi-family, non-profit, and faith-based properties. Founded in 2016, the company has grown to be the largest and most comprehensive solar energy company in the District.

With proven expertise in the development and implementation of highly regulated energy markets as well as clean energy project finance, Mr. Healy has experienced much success throughout his career. He has been an active advocate of renewable energy and clean power in environmental policies, which includes leading the advocacy efforts for the Clean Energy DC Act 2018 passed by the DC City Council to implement a 100% renewable energy target by 2032 and mandates zero-emissions public transportation by 2045. Mr. Healy was also the youngest elected board member to the National Solar Energy Industry Association, where he served as Treasurer for the Executive Committee. Mr. Healy has attributed his many successes to the supportive people around him, stating that the solar industry requires thorough subject matter expertise across its entire complex supply chain; without experts in engineering, operations, finance, regulation, and real estate, solar projects, quite simply, could not be developed.

Mr. Healy is passionate about actively engaging in his local community and channeling his efforts through New Columbia Solar to create a cleaner, and more equitable, world. He supports aspiring entrepreneurs through his engagement in a variety of socially focused angel investment groups; develops sustainably focused content into schools curricula in the District; and supports local artists and nonprofits, including the DC Environmental Film Festival. Looking toward the future, Mr. Healy hopes to see the District meet its goal of 100% renewable energy by 2032 through his efforts at New Columbia Solar, and moreover, scale the company’s efforts to make solar energy prevalent and accessible nationwide.
