Having since retired from a long and successful career as a child and school psychologist, Dr. Reeve specialized in working with children with various behavioral issues between the ages of three and 21. Aligned with the Appalachia Intermediate Unit Eight School in Hollidaysburg, Pennsylvania, part of his responsibilities included conducting pre-school assessments, as well as on whether the patient was on the spectrum for autism. Dr. Reeve also maintained his own private practice for many years after garnering a reputation as a psychologist at Crotched Mountain Rehabilitation Center in Greenfield, New Hampshire, between 1971 and 1973.
A passionate leader in his field, Dr. Reeve enjoyed helping children in order to help solve various problems. Drawing greatly from the example of his parents, his mother was an elementary school teacher and his father, who attended law school, was a successful newspaper publisher. His parents worked together for many years and maintained an inspirational work ethic. They notably published their son in their paper on several occasions, recognizing his achievements. Additionally, Dr. Reeve benefitted richly from the tutelage of Dr. Owen Bruce Brown, Dr. George Sansone, Dr. Joseph French, and Dr. James McDonald as well as from several other professionals and colleagues in psychology.
As a part of his civic commitments, Dr. Reeve was a captain in the Civil Air Patrol for nearly two decades. A nonprofit, federally supported organization of the U.S. Air Force, it serves as a volunteer group that performs emergency services, aerospace education and cadet programs for teenagers. It was a wonderful and gratifying opportunity.
Born in Massachusetts, Dr. Reeve attained a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and a Master of Education in Counseling at Boston University. Dr. Reeve also holds a Certificate of Advanced Graduate Studies in School Psychology, he received a Doctor of Education from The Pennsylvania State University. Eminently qualified, he is a Licensed Psychologist in Pennsylvania, and a certified School Psychologist in both Massachusetts and Pennsylvania.
Dr. Reeve has been aligned with several industry-related organizations in support of his career, including the National Association of School Psychologists, the Laurel Mountain Psychological Association, and the National Association of Elementary School Principals.
Other memberships to his credit include the Morrisons Cove Rotary Club, the Gold Wing Road Riders Association, and several other local professional and avocational organizations. Through the Rotary Club, Dr. Reeve notably served as a past president, club youth exchange officer, assistant governor and youth exchange committee member for district 7360. Dr. and Mrs. Reeve also have hosted seven International Rotary Youth Exchange Students.
