Baaya Design Celebrates Cultural Indian Arts in Contemporary India

Details about the event: Baaya Design, the social enterprise behind the cultural arts store named Baaya in Lower Parel, is committed to the celebration of Indian art forms. Part of Baaya’s mission is to work closely with the artisans of rural India and elevate their status with opportunities in the landscape of urban architecture and interior design. This revives the Indian cultural arts and gives contemporary spaces a whole-new idiom to work with.

Baaya would like to welcome you to an event that is very close to its heart. The occasion in question is an event to rejoice, Ms. Sunita Nair, author, and her book, ‘Indigenous Artists – India’ held on Women’s Day. Sunita is one of the few women in India involved in the study of indigenous art forms.

The book presents the stunning folk / tribal art traditions of India and the indigenous communities in the villages where they originated. The book features 11 indigenous art genres that have received critical acclaim from international art scholars.
