NextPlay Technologies’ NextBank and Alphabit’s ABCC Cryptocurrency Exchange Complete Collaboration, Expanding NextBank Regionally and Towards Banking for the Digital Community

NextPlay Technologies, Inc. (Nasdaq: NXTP), a digital native ecosystem for finance, digital advertisers, and video gamers, announced today that NextBank International, Inc. (“NextBank”), the international banking unit of NextPlay’s fintech division, has structured and signed a Collaboration Agreement with Alphabit Consulting Pte. Ltd. (“Alphabit”), formally launching the process of bringing deposit accounts and payment cards to members of Alphabit’s ABCC cryptocurrency exchange (“ABCC”).

The signed agreement creates an opportunity for tens of thousands of ABCC customers to open NextBank accounts and represents the first partner onboarding since NextBank revamped its operating systems to support this type of scalability. Once implemented, ABCC Exchange customers will be able to convert cryptocurrencies to, and use NextBank accounts to transact in, fiat currencies, and also use NextBank prepaid cards that will allow ABCC Exchange customers to transact in fiat currencies using their crypto assets. In the future, subject to NextBank’s and ABCC’s receipt of necessary regulatory approvals, the parties intend to provide an additional opportunity for ABCC customers to apply for payment cards under which approved customers will have the ability to borrow funds from NextBank, which borrowings are to be secured by cryptocurrencies held by the customer in a separate account at ABCC.

Alphabit has built a broad global user base with ABCC. As a Singapore-based cryptocurrency exchange operator, Alphabit has submitted a license application under the Payment Service Act 2019 to provide account issuance services and digital payment token services as it continues to operate under a license exemption.

Todd Bonner, chairman of the board of directors of NextPlay Technologies and head of the company’s fintech division, stated: “Last month our team implemented improvements in NextBank’s core operating infrastructure, significantly expanding the capabilities of our Fintech division, including for mobile and online banking. We intend to continue that improvement by seeking regulatory approval to add insurance products and block chained assets to our banking services. With the ABCC relationship, we have the potential to expand NextBank’s deposit base and depositor count to many multiples of their current level. The relationship with ABCC is expected to provide us with the opportunity to offer credit to this emerging class of high-net-worth crypto investors. Soon, we expect to offer unique insurance products and well-underwritten and currently not easily accessible real world alternative asset classes. We are very thankful to Calvin and his excellent team for offering us a chance to grow with ABCC.”

ABCC president, Calvin Ng, stated: “We started discussions with NextBank earlier this year seeking their financial services due to their architectural design, international online banking capabilities, and their positioning in the international online banking marketplace. We believe that such a cooperation between ABCC and NextBank will mark the beginning of a new paradigm in digital assets and banking, providing a new form of seamless services of the future. ABCC is very happy to secure this cooperation and encourages crypto exchanges globally to follow such a path.”

NextPlay Technologies Acquires Assets and IP of Casual Game Publisher, goGame, to Integrate its HotPlay In-Game Advertising Technology

NextPlay Technologies, Inc. (Nasdaq: NXTP), a technology solutions company building a digital business ecosystem for digital advertisers, consumers, video gamers and travelers, has completed its previously announced acquisition of gaming assets and IP from goGame, a Singapore-based mobile casual video game publisher and technology company.

The acquired assets include goPlay, a new-gen game publishing platform featuring a tournament system, chat, payment, and 37 casual games ranging from arcade to strategy. NextPlay plans to complete the integration of its HotPlay in-game advertising (IGA) technology into the 37 goPlay games by year-end.

NextPlay also acquired from goGame a perpetual license to goPay, a payment aggregator that offers game developers multiple ways to more easily collect and process user payments. This includes carrier billing, over the counter, e-voucher, bank transfer and e-wallet. The goPay technology further extends NextPlay’s existing payment services, offering access to a wider array of global payment providers.

“The key value for us in this acquisition is how the goPlay platform enables gamers to form a community within its ecosystem,” noted NextPlay co-chief executive Nithinan (Jessie) Boonyawattanapisut. “We see this providing a ready-made platform to launch our HotPlay IGA technology, with this leading to new revenue streams and expansion of our reach to users in many additional countries around the world.”

As a fully owned brand, goPlay brings Nextplay:

– Web destination for players to gather and engage in social play across a catalogue of well-crafted, hyper casual games.
– Set of new technologies and APIs, such as social graph, chat, and game tournament backend services, for integration into the company’s advertising and game services offering and delivered via its core game software development kit across web, set-top box, and mobile platforms.
– New revenue stream through goPay payments and ability to harness exciting new partnerships in key areas of NextPlay’s broader market focus, such as NFT gaming and cryptocurrency.

goPlay and goPay offer a core set of compelling features that are perfect for a wide variety of platform partners who will be able to sign up under an Open Beta this summer. The goGame offerings will become part of the NextPlay suite of customizable products that can be tailored to fit the individual needs and capabilities of B2B and B2C operators across the globe.

NextPlay also plans to introduce goPlay game users to its NextFinancial fintech-oriented products, including crypto banking, micro-lending, and potential insurance services. Across each of these offerings, NextPlay would also have full access to goGame’s payment processing gateway goPay.

For further details about the NextPlay’s asset and IP purchase from goGame, please see the NextPlay Form 8-K filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission at www.sec.gov, and also available in the nextplaytechnologies.com investor relations section.

NextPlay Launches NextPlay X Soma Labs, an Innovation and Design Lab for Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs), Social Games, and Metaverse Worlds

NextPlay Technologies, Inc. (NASDAQ: NXTP) (the “Company”), a digital business ecosystem for digital advertisers, consumers, video gamers and travelers, has teamed with Soma Innovation Lab and NFT Pro to launch NextPlay X Soma Labs, a digital design and innovation lab focused on developing non-fungible tokens (NFTs), social games and Metaverse virtual worlds for major brands, creators and agencies.

The joint venture will leverage Soma’s extended reality solutions, NFT Pro’s non-fungible tokens technology platform and NextPlay’s proprietary in-game advertising, game development, crypto-banking, Connected TV, travel booking engine and other NextPlay digital technologies to build foundational pathways to the Metaverse. This includes travel destinations, game worlds, museums, shopping centers, stores, social clubs and more – all experienced in the Metaverse.

Heralded as the next evolution of the Internet, the Metaverse is an immersive online virtual world which incorporates augmented reality, virtual reality, 3D holographic avatars, interactive video and other means of digital communication and interaction. The Metaverse is a hyper-real alternative world that you can coexist in through a computer or television screen, or by using special glasses or goggles for a more immersive experience.

As a demonstration of this interconnected ecosystem, in a matter of a few weeks, the company expects to launch Issue by Travel Magazine (“Issue”), an adventure travel portal that will offer inviting onramps into the Metaverse. As an extension of NextPlay’s existing Travel Magazine, Issue will feature immersive content, XR showrooms, mini games, NFT offerings and more – all created by NextPlay X Soma Labs.

NextPlay’s technical teams will lead the lab’s development effort, including conceptualization, character development, and asset design, as well as the creation of marketplaces that offer NFT smart contracts.
Soma brings to the joint effort expertise in the production of virtual reality, augmented reality, and mixed reality media, as well as the creation of film, gaming, television, and music video content for global brands and advertising agencies worldwide.

In addition to creating metaverse spaces, the lab will provide end-to-end solutions for brands and advertisers to launch their own branded, fully customizable NFTs-powered experiences and marketplaces directly on their website. NFT Pro will support the lab’s NFT digital asset offerings. NFTs can represent real-world objects like art, music, in-game items and videos, and are usually encoded with the same underlying technology as cryptocurrencies.

“NextPlay X Soma Labs will help shape and grow the fast-evolving world of digital goods and tokens, and the emerging Metaverse,” commented Soma Innovation Lab’s CMO, Karen Morgan. “The importance of brands, creators and agencies to enter this space with elevated urgency was recently highlighted with the renaming of Facebook to Meta and it stated new focus on the vast emerging opportunities for global consumer engagement and monetization presented by the Metaverse.

“We believe we are at just the beginning of a digital renaissance in the worlds of art and content creation,” continued Morgan. “We now have a unique opportunity to build a flourishing ecosystem of brands, artists, collectors and curators who will help us build meta communities at the intersection of culture and commerce.”

According to NextPlay co-CEO, Bill Kerby: “The Metaverse is emerging as the next wave of consumer engagement beyond the Internet as we know it. It will enable people to build, buy, sell, perform, collaborate, and play together in real time like never before. Our new digital innovation and design lab is positioning to be at the forefront in developing Metaverse spaces and multi-touchpoint opportunities for advertisers and brands.

“NextPlay X Soma Labs will live at the center of our digital ecosystem of gaming, crypto-banking, fintech, Connected TV, travel and tourism, and entertainment,” added Kerby. “We see it interconnecting these powerful segments of our business with a goal to drive new high-margin revenue streams.”
