Dr. EV-il Fights Climate Change in GM’s Big Game Spot

The cast of Austin Powers will reunite in General Motors’ big game ad, taking aim at climate change in a humorous way. In “Dr. EV-il,” an extension of GM’s “Everybody In” campaign, Dr. Evil meets his match – climate change – and learns he is now the second biggest threat to the world. To regain his top position, Dr. Evil and his evil sidekicks hatch a diabolical plan to take control of GM, using the company’s Ultium Platform to fight this new nemesis.

The spot prominently features EVs powered by GM’s Ultium Platform — including the GMC HUMMER EV SUV and Pickup, Cadillac LYRIQ, Chevy Silverado EV and the BrightDrop EV600 — as well as Cadillac’s autonomous Halo Concept Portfolio, which includes the InnerSpace, SocialSpace and PersonalSpace.

The campaign includes a hero :60 TVC, multiple teasers and bonus content

across GM and talent social channels.

Climate change is the number one threat to the planet. Not to be outdone, Dr. Evil hatches a diabolical plan to take over GM and use their revolutionary EV technology to fight this new nemesis, and – thanks to a late breaking surprise from his son, Scott – help save the world. Before taking it over.

Mike Myers as Dr. EV-il

• Mike Meyers reprises his role as Dr. Evil, reuniting with his cronies to help save the world from climate change as he rebrands himself Dr.

Rob Lowe as Number Two

• Rob Lowe reprises his role as second in command, Number Two and helps Dr. EV-il form his plans.

Seth Green as Scott Evil

• Seth Green reprises his role as Dr. Evil’s son, Scott Evil, and informs Dr. EV-il that climate change is now the number one threat to the world.

Mindy Sterling as Frau Farbissina

• Mindy Sterling reprises her role as Dr. Evil’s henchwoman, Frau Farbissina, and proposes the idea that Dr. EV-il save the world from climate change so that he can take over the world.

“In GM’s Super Bowl LVI spot, Dr. Evil has met his match – climate change. To regain his top position, he reinvents himself as Dr. EV-il and he and his evil sidekicks take over GM for our Ultium Platform and EV lineup, including the GMC HUMMER EV, Cadillac LYRIQ, Chevrolet Silverado EV, BrightDrop EV600, and Cadillac concepts the InnerSpace, SocialSpace, and PersonalSpace. Through this modern and humorous interpretation of beloved characters, we are highlighting the importance of EVs in the fight against climate change as GM goes all electric with ‘Everybody In.’” – Deborah Wahl, global chief
