KALYAN: A 22-year-old farmer from Nashik suffered a partial amputation of his left leg after being struck by the infamous ‘Phatka gang’ near Kalyan. The occurrence happened on Sunday early morning while Gaurav Nikam was taking a trip on the Tapovan Express from Thane to Nashik.According to Kalyan GRP, the occurrence occurred in between Shahad and Ambivli train stations when the train decreased near Irani Pada. Nikam was on a telephone call near the train door when a small kid from outdoors struck his hand with a phatka (stick or item) in an effort to nab his cellphone. The effect triggered Nikam to lose balance and fall from the train, leading to his left leg being severed under the wheels.
