Canada – Seizures of contraband and unauthorized items at Drummond Institution
Drummondville, Quebec – Correctional Service Canada Between September 14 and 16, 2021, as a result of the vigilance of staff members, several separate packages containing contraband and unauthorized items were seized at the Drummond Institution, a federal medium security facility. The contraband and unauthorized items seized included 306 grams of hashish, four grams of cannabis resin, 50 tablets of amphetamine, 26 ecstasy pills, three cellphones, one SIM card and 1076 grams of tobacco. Japan – Eisai’s Anti-Epileptic Drug Fycompa Approved In China As Monotherapy For Partial-Onset Seizures And Pediatric Indication For Partial-Onset Seizures
Eisai Co., Ltd. announced today that its in-house discovered and developed anti-epileptic drug (AED) Fycompa (generic name: perampanel) has obtained two additional approvals as “a monotherapy for partial-onset seizures” and “an adjunctive treatment / a monotherapy for pediatric indication for partial onset seizures in patients with epilepsy 4 years of age and older” in China from the National Medical Products Administration. Fycompa has already been approved in China as an adjunctive treatment for partial-onset seizures with or without secondarily generalized seizures in patients with epilepsy 12 years of age and older.
