Revised Code of Practice for Bamboo Scaffolding Safety gazetted ***************************************************************      The Labour Department (LD) published a revised Code of Practice for Bamboo Scaffolding Safety (CoP) in the Gazette today (April 19) to enhance the safety of bamboo scaffolds in the construction industry.      The major revisions of the CoP include the enhancement of technical requirements for the bracing, putlog and access and egress of bamboo scaffolds; the prohibition to unauthorised alteration of bamboo scaffolds including putlog; and further specifying the requirement of supervising work of competent persons to the bamboo scaffolders who perform erection, substantial addition, alteration or dismantling of bamboo ... Revised GRAP to deal with adverse air quality scenario

In a move to mitigate dust arising out of Construction and Demolition (C&D) activities sites and intensify actions to further ameliorate the overall air quality of the National Capital Region (NCR), the Commission for Air Quality Management in NCR and Adjoining Areas (CAQM) has mandated all C&D projects in the NCR to deploy adequate numbers of anti-smog guns, in proportion to the total area of construction for the project. CBDT issues Revised Guidelines for compounding of offences under the Income-tax Act, 1961

In conformity with the Government’s policy of facilitating Ease of Doing Business and decriminalisation of offences, CBDT has taken steps in this direction and issued revised Guidelines for Compounding of offences under the Income-tax Act, 1961(the ‘Act’) dated 16.09.2022 with reference to various offences covered under the prosecution provisions of the Act. Some of the major changes made for the benefit of taxpayers include making offence punishable under Section 276 of the Act as compoundable. Canada – REVISED – Lane closures on Alexandra Bridge

Public Services and Procurement Canada (PSPC) wishes to advise motorists that the Alexandra Bridge will be closed to motorists for inspection and maintenance work during the following periods: Friday, October 22, from 9 am to 3 pm Saturday, October 23, and Sunday, October 24, from 7 am to 5 pm During these periods, the boardwalk will remain accessible to pedestrians and cyclists. The schedule may change depending on weather conditions and the progress of the work. PSPC encourages users to exercise caution when travelling on the bridge and thanks them for their patience.
