  Author Bio Amir Khan currently resides in Southern California. He was raised by immigrant parents: a Pakistani father and a Mexican mother. He is the author of “Speedboat Race,” which he wrote when he was 12 years old and in sixth grade at his elementary school in Illinois. Where his school selected Amir’s story to represent it for 6th-grade submission to the Illinois Young Authors Conference.
