New treatment option for schizophrenia Reagila(R) listed on PBS

A new treatment for schizophrenia in adults, Reagila(R) (cariprazine), was listed on the Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme (PBS) on 1 September, providing patients with an additional treatment option. Approved in the US since 2015 and EU since 2017, Reagila is approved in over 52 countries for the treatment of schizophrenia in adults. Schizophrenia is a complex psychiatric disorder comprising a range of symptoms – positive symptoms include hallucinations and delusions, while negative symptoms include social withdrawal and apathy.
