Temporary closure of Tin Shui Wai Sports Centre ***********************************************      ​The Leisure and Cultural Services Department (LCSD) announced today (August 21) that Tin Shui Wai Sports Centre will be temporarily closed for anti-epidemic purposes from tomorrow (August 22) until further notice.      For refund arrangements in relation to venue closure, hirers may submit a completed refund application form together with the original booking permit to Yuen Long District Leisure Services Office of the LCSD in person or by post. The refund application form can be downloaded from www.lcsd.gov.hk/en/aboutlcsd/forms/refund.html.

HAD opens temporary heat shelters *********************************      ​The Home Affairs Department is opening 18 community halls/community centres as temporary heat shelters today (August 13).        The temporary heat shelters will remain open for people to take refuge from the heat when the Very Hot Weather Warning is in force. From 10.30 pm to 8am the next day, the temporary heat shelters will also provide bedding and a sleeping place for people in need. Temporary Unemployment Relief Scheme concluded **********************************************      The Government has completed the processing of all applications under the Temporary Unemployment Relief Scheme (the Scheme). Among the 470 000 applications received, up to 350 000 applicants have been granted the subsidies, which far exceed the original estimate of 300 000 beneficiaries. Total subsidies granted amount to $3.5 billion.        The Government last issued a press release about the Scheme on June 24 to remind applicants to submit requests for review on or before July 8. Of the 30 690 requests received by the deadline, some 27 500 applications were granted subsidies after ... Temporary Closure of the Hong Kong Wetland Park *********************************************** TV/Radio Announcers please broadcast the following as soon as possible:        As Tropical Cyclone Warning Signal No. 8 or above is now in force, the Hong Kong Wetland Park is closed. The Park will re-open two hours after the signal is lowered. The Park will remain closed today if the signal No. 8 or above remains hoisted at 2pm. Any person or organisation who has paid a deposit for visiting today can contact the Park’s ticket office for refund arrangements or to change the visit date.
