The gross GST revenue collected in the month of February 2022 is Rs 1,33,026 crore of which CGST is Rs 24,435 crore, SGST is Rs 30,779 crore, IGST is Rs 67,471crore (including Rs 33,837 crore collected on import of goods) and cess is Rs 10,340 crore (including Rs 638 crore collected on import of goods). The Department of Expenditure, Ministry of Finance today released an amount of Rs. 1154.90 crore to 4 States for providing grants to Urban Local Bodies.  The States to which grants were released on Monday are Andhra Pradesh (Rs. 225.60 crore), Bihar (Rs. 769 crore), Gujarat (Rs. 165.30 crore) and Sikkim (Rs.5 crore).  The grants released are meant for Non-Million Plus cities (NMPCs) including Cantonment Boards.               The 15th Finance Commission in its report for the period from 2021-22 to 2025-26 has divided the Urban Local Bodies into two categories: (a) Million-Plus urban agglomerations/cities (excluding Delhi ... As on 24-01-2022, the total number of Permanent Account Numbers (PANs) linked with Aadhaar is 43,34,75,209. This was stated by Union Minister of State for Finance Shri Pankaj Chaudhary in a written reply to a question in Lok Sabha today. The Minister further stated that the time-limit as extended by the Government for linking all PAN cards with Aadhaar cards is 31-03-2022. Nearly 5.89 crore Income Tax Returns (ITRs) have been filed on the new e-filing portal of the Income Tax Department as on 31st December, 2021, the extended due date. More than 46.11 lakh ITRs were filed on 31.12.2021. In order to assist taxpayers with a smooth experience on the portal, 16,850 taxpayer calls and 1,467 chats were responded to by the helpdesk. In addition, the Department has been proactively engaging with and reaching out to taxpayers and professionals for assistance on its official Twitter handle.
