During The American Express 2024 Golf Tournament, American Express Chairman and CEO Stephen J. Squeri joined CNBCs Halftime Report for an interview at the long-standing event in La Quinta, California.

In its 65th year, and Amexs fifth year as title sponsor, the tournament continues to bring together top-ranked professional golfers, fans, and business clients, while also supporting local small businesses and the Coachella Valley community.

Since its inception in 1960 as the Palm Springs Golf Classic, The American Express has donated more than $65 million in charitable funds to non-profits, including the over $1 million Amex is giving to support the local communities this year.

Throughout the tournament, fans could watch their favorite professional and amateur players tee off and enjoy refreshments from small businesses, as well as special musical performances from Keith Urban and Train. Amex also hosted a womens executive leadership conference for local business owners and a community day for colleagues.

We try to get involved with sponsorships where our Card Members can have an experience like no other, said Squeri. Its not about just putting our name on an event; its about creating an experience with that property.
