Breath-taking, moving, astonishing, the definitive tale of the border for our times Jackson Jorgens PhD, Author and Shakespeare Scholar.

Cecilia Domeykos adventure-packed novel Sacrifice on the Border follows Yoali, a young mother who is looking for her son, Elisito, torn from her arms as she crosses the Rio Grande into the U.S. Elisitos father, Guayo is a drug trafficker who has stolen the child to sell him on the black market.

Guayo tries to convince Yoali that the child drowned when they crossed the river, but Yoali doesnt believe it. She swears shell search for her son no matter the odds. Meanwhile the boy has been handed over to fellow cartel members Coyota and Gato who are told to prepare the boy for sale on the black market. The cartel couple are horrified by this evil plan and decide to save the child by escaping with him south of the border.

The story depicts a mothers love for her child and how a mother will always be willing to fight for her baby even if this means pitting her own life against powerful criminals.

For Latino migrants crossing the border into the United States it is a terrifying journey that most are willing to take even at the cost of their own lives for the promise of freedom and better opportunities.

The authors underlying themes are the value of a childs life and how it should not be sacrificed at the whim of traffickers wishing to go to any length for a profit. The novels plot and characters depict the horrors of a border crossing where migrants face darkness, corruption and especially extreme violence.

Throughout this novel, each and every character must evolve in order to move forward both physically and emotionally and in so doing must choose between love and hate, good and evil.
