     The Agriculture, Fisheries and Conservation Department (AFCD) announced today (March 25) results of ACCOMPANY – Design Competition for the Reconstruction of the Public Toilet and Refreshment Kiosk within Aberdeen Country Park P.H.A.B. (Physically Handicapped and Able-Bodied) Barbecue Site. A prize award ceremony was held at the City Gallery, Central.   

     The design competition, organised by the AFCD together with the Architectural Services Department, aimed to call for people-oriented design ideas and concepts to enhance public toilet facilities and the refreshment kiosk in Aberdeen Country Park P.H.A.B. Barbecue Site. The Under Secretary for Environment and Ecology, Miss Diane Wong; the Director of Agriculture, Fisheries and Conservation, Dr Leung Siu Fai; the Director of Architectural Services, Mr Edward Tse; and a juror, Mr Lam Leung Ming, representative of the Hong Kong Society for Rehabilitation, presented the awards to the winners.

     Speaking at the ceremony, Miss Wong said that the Government is committed to enhancing toilet facilities within country parks to meet demands of visitors as far as possible, and has set aside $500 million in the 2021-22 Budget to carry out enhancement works including improving toilet facilities in some country parks. The Government is implementing improvements in phases, to construct and reconstruct public toilets in popular countryside spots. The public toilet in Aberdeen Country Park P.H.A.B. Barbecue Site is one of the chosen sites. Through organising the design competition, the Government encourages creativity on the design of barrier-free and inclusive facilities, and selected an outstanding entry which is innovative, harmonious with the natural environment and sustainable, for reference or adoption for the reconstruction of the toilet and the refreshment kiosk.

     The competition received 35 entries in total from local architects. Winning entries, including the first prize, second prize and third prize, as well as two commendation entries were selected by the jury panel. The awarded entries offer inclusive designs which enable visitors of different ages and abilities to enjoy the P.H.A.B. Barbecue Site and are in harmony with the natural environment of country parks for a better visitor experience.

The following is issued on behalf of the Pharmacy and Poisons Board of Hong Kong:

     The Pharmacy and Poisons Board of Hong Kong announced today (March 3) the results of the Pharmacist Registration Examinations held in December 2022.

     There were 34, 52 and 38 candidates sitting for examinations in pharmacy legislation in Hong Kong, pharmacy practice and pharmacology respectively, with corresponding passing rates of 58.82 per cent, 7.69 per cent and 39.47 per cent.

     Apart from meeting other requirements prescribed by the Board, any pharmacy graduate outside Hong Kong intending to be registered as a pharmacist in Hong Kong is required to pass the above three subjects.

     The Board conducts its Registration Examinations twice a year, normally in June and December.

IREDA Q2 Results: PBT rises 76.16% to ₹ 276.31 Crore,





  1. Profit Before Tax and Profit After Tax up by 76.15% and 67.14% to Rs 276.31crore and Rs 184.30, respectively
  2. Gross Income up by 15.90% to Rs 791.56 crore
  3. Net-worth up by 69.16% to Rs 5,638.31 crore
  4. Loan Book and Loan Sanction up by 17.07% and 89.47%


Indian Renewable Energy Development Agency (IREDA), a PSU under the Ministry of New & Renewable Energy (MNRE), today announced audited financial results for the second quarter ended September 30, 2022.  The company has posted Profit Before Tax (PBT) of ₹ 276.31  Crore, which is 76.15% higher compared to ₹156.86 crore in the Q2 of the previous financial year.  IREDA’s Net Non-Performing Assets (NPAs) have been reduced to 2.72% in Q2, FY 2022-23 from 4.87% in Q2, FY 2021-22, a significant reduction of 44% YoY.


Highlights of Q2, FY 2022-23 as compared to the corresponding period during Q2, FY 2021–22 are as follows:


Profit Before Tax: ₹276.31 crore as against ₹156.86 crore (up by 76.15%)


Profit After Tax: ₹184.30 crore as against ₹110.27 crore (up by 67.14%)


Gross Income: ₹791.56 crore as against ₹682.94 crore (up by 15.90%)


Net-worth: ₹5,638.31 crore as against ₹3,333.19 crore (up by 69.16%)


Loan Book: ₹33,783.36 crore as against ₹28,856.48 crore (up by 17.07%)


Loan Sanction: ₹11,226.49 crore as against ₹5925.12 crore (up by 89.47%)


Net NPAs: 2.72% as against 4.87% (reduction by 44.00%)


Gross NPAs: 5.06% as against 8.05% (reduction by 37.17%)




Shri Pradip Kumar Das, Chairman & Managing Director (CMD), IREDA, highlighted: “IREDA has registered growth in quarterly PBT and PAT by 76.15% and 67.14% respectively, and  has also registered a significant reduction in gross and net NPAs, which is a big achievement for any NBFC.


CMD, IREDA highlighted that this would not have been possible without the contribution of Team IREDA. He thanked all employees for their consistent hard work and support. He conveyed his sincere gratitude to Shri R. K. Singh, Union Minister of Power and New & Renewable Energy, and Shri Bhagwanth Khuba, Minister of State, New & Renewable Energy, Chemicals & Fertilizers, for their continuous guidance and support.      ​The Agriculture, Fisheries and Conservation Department (AFCD) announced the results of the Hong Kong Country Parks Photo cum Video Competition today (September 1).



     “The response to the competition was enthusiastic with over 1 400 entries collected. The entries fully showcased the scenic beauty of country parks in Hong Kong, and helped raise public awareness on conserving the countryside,” an AFCD spokesman said.



     With the theme of “The Scenic Beauty of Hong Kong Country Parks”, the competition aimed to encourage members of the public to explore country parks, enjoy the natural scenery in a leisurely manner and continue to protect the unique and beautiful landscapes. The competition comprised three categories: landscape photography, mobile landscape photography and landscape videography. In addition to champions and runners-up, two merit awards were given for each category. The winners were chosen by a panel of adjudicators consisting of professional photographers and an AFCD representative. Judging criteria included creativity, photographic quality and contents.



     The competition was under the exclusive sponsorship of the Hong Kong Jockey Club (HKJC), and was one of the many initiatives supported by the HKJC’s approved donation of $630 million to the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) to mark the 25th anniversary of the establishment of the HKSAR.      The Pharmacy and Poisons Board of Hong Kong announced today (August 17) the results of the Pharmacist Registration Examinations held in June 2022.

 

     There were 47, 69 and 36 candidates sitting for examinations in pharmacy legislation in Hong Kong, pharmacy practice and pharmacology respectively, with corresponding passing rates of 70.21 per cent, 55.07 per cent and 58.33 per cent.

 

     Apart from meeting other requirements prescribed by the Board, any pharmacy graduate outside Hong Kong intending to be registered as a pharmacist in Hong Kong is required to pass the above three subjects.

 

     The Board conducts its Registration Examinations twice a year, normally in June and December.
