Shri Amit Shah Minister inaugurates the National Tribal Research Institute in New Delhi today


As a part of the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav celebrations by the Ministry of Tribal Affairs, the Minister of Home Affairs and Cooperation, Shri Amit Shah, inaugurated the National Tribal Research Institute today in New Delhi.




The  Union Minister of Tribal Affairs, Shri Arjun Munda and other Cabinet and State Ministers, including, the Minister of Law and Justice, Shri Kiren Rijiju; MoS Tribal Affairs, Smt. Renuka Singh Saruta; MoS Minority Affairs, Shri John Barla and the MoS of Rural Development and Steel, Shri Faggan Singh Kulaste  and other dignitaries graced the occasion.


In his address, the Union Home and Cooperation Minister said that today is a very important day for the whole country, especially for the tribal society. Today this National Tribal Research Institute is coming into existence according to the vision of the Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi. There are many Tribal Research Institutes in the country, but there was no national link connecting many diversities of tribal society and this institute  built according to the vision of Shri Narendra Modi will become that link.


Shri Amit Shah said that Shri Narendra Modi also announced and celebrated Janjatiya Gaurav Diwas for the first time after Independence. As Chief Minister of Gujarat, Shri Modi started  a scheme in the form of Vanbandhu Kalyan Yojana for the overall development of tribal society, which led to  development of individuals, villages and regions. Tribal society cannot develop unless there is complete development of the individual, the village and the region.

Addressing the gathering, Shri Kiren Rijiju, Minister of Law and Justice, said that this is now responsibility of all of concerned and research fellows present here to take the tribal culture, history and development, forward. Shri Rijiju remarked , “This is a landmark event as a National Tribal Research Institute and its state TRIs will be taking forward the study of various distinctive tribal communities and the rich indigenous history, cultural heritage and art.”He added , “Following the vision of our PM, it is our duty and shared responsibility to encourage and empower tribals for a stronger Atmanirbhar Bharat tomorrow.”


During the event, Shri Arjun Munda, Minister of Tribal Affairs, stated that the inauguration of NTRI is a landmark initiative of the Tribal Affairs Ministry and will herald a new chapter in the Institutional Development of Tribals and their welfare. He also said that NTRI along with state TRIs will help in strengthening of policy making. Shri Arjun Munda disclosed that Ministry of Tribal affairs has achieved the distinction of running most of its programmes in digital mode. Today, 30 lakh tribal students are being awarded direct scholarships through the DBT Mechanism of the Ministry, he informed. Thus, we are efficiently processing all the work related to the scholarship scheme online and ensuring that the projects with the NGOs and COEs as well as with states remains ongoing through the digital mode, Sh Arjun Munda added.


Later, briefing the media Shri Arjun Munda said that NTRI will work to deliver outcome-based implementation of schemes, programmes and policies for tribal population right down to the grassroot level.  It will harness the expertise of Universities, NGOs, COEs and other experts in various fields to undertake research, training, capacity building which will help the tribal population to embark upon the renewed journey of development including good livelihood , health , education and AtmaNirbharta and their ultimate empowerment. The apex Research Institute will provide inputs to help fill policy gaps at various levels and also ensure that the Schedule Tribe Component of various Ministries converts into actual delivery on the ground for transformation of tribal society, the Minister explained.


The NTRI is a premier and apex National Level Institute and will become the cynosure of tribal concerns, issues and matters in academic, executive and legislative fields. It will collaborate and network with other reputed research institutes, Universities, organizations as well as academic bodies and resource Centres. It will also monitor projects of Tribal Research Institutes (TRIs), Centres of Excellence (CoEs), research scholars of NFS and set up norms for improvement in the quality of research and training. Its other activities are to provide policy inputs to the Ministry of Tribal Affairs as well as State Welfare Departments, Design studies and programmes that improve or support socio-economic aspects of tribal lifestyles, create and maintain of Database of PMAAGY, provide guidelines in setting and running of Tribal Museums and showcase rich tribal cultural heritage of India, under one umbrella.








The keynote address was delivered by the   Secretary, Ministry of Tribal Affairs, Shri Anil Kumar Jha at the event today.  



In the event, two booklets on the 8 Years of Achievements and the Key Initiatives of the Ministry of Tribal Affairs were released by Shri Amit Shah.


An exhibition of the 8 years of achievements of the Ministry of Tribal Affairs, under the leadership of the Prime Minister was also showcased. More than a 100 tribal artisans and tribal troupes across country showcased their indigenous products and performances.



The event was live-streamed on Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and other prominent social media platforms. The exhibition remained open for the public from 2 PM onwards and at 6 pm, the event concluded with the scintillating performances of tribal troupes invigorating the audience.

Shri Narayan Rane inaugurates “Enterprise India” a month long initiative to promote entrepreneurship culture in the country


Union Minister for Micro ,Small and Medium Enterprises Shri Narayan Rane  today inaugurated the Ministry’s Mega Event: “Enterprise India” under the celebrations of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav. “Enterprise India” is a series of commemorative entrepreneurship development events and activities being organised from 27.04.2022 up to 27.05.2022 to promote entrepreneurship culture and create awareness about the schemes and initiatives of Ministry of MSME across the country. The event is aimed at ‘Jan Bhagidari’ and some of the key activities include conferences with Industry Associations, organizing Entrepreneurship Awareness Programmes through Field offices, demonstration of Nukkad Nataks in Aspirational Districts, special campaigns on Udyam Registration, launch of MSME Sustainable Zed Certification Scheme, conducting ‘MSME Expedition’ in several States, organising MSME Mega Convention and Exhibition.



Presiding over the meeting with industry associations Shri Rane said that interaction with the MSME industry Associations will surely bring out some fruitful way forward for existing schemes, policies, programmes as well as to formulate relevant new initiatives in due course of time. The Minister  highlighted the significant role of MSMEs in promoting entrepreneurship and importance of Industry associations in making country a “Manufacturing Hub”


The Minister discussed issues pertaining to the sector and schemes regarding Aatma Nirbhar Bharat and making India a 5 trillion dollar economy. He reiterated that MSMEs are growth accelerators making a significant contribution to GDP and need to be strengthened.He said the country can be made self-reliant by development of MSMEs. The interaction with the MSME industry Associations brought out constructive suggestions to make the MSME sector vibrant.


Shri Bhanu Pratap Singh Verma, State Minister of MSME  graced the occasion.  Senior officers of Central Government, office bearers of different industry associations and other delegates also attended the meeting. PM Modi inaugurates Pradhanmantri Sanghralaya in New Delhi


The Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi inaugurated Pradhanmantri Sanghralaya in New Delhi today.


Speaking on the occasion, the Prime Minister noted various festivals being celebrated today. He also paid tributes to Babasaheb Ambedkar and said “the constitution of which Babasaheb was the main architect, that constitution gave us the basis of the Parliamentary system. The main responsibility of this Parliamentary system has been on the office of the Prime Minister of the country. It is my good fortune that today I have got the opportunity to dedicate the Prime Minister’s Museum to the nation.” He also acknowledged and greeted the families of the past Prime Ministers present on the occasion.


The Prime Minster emphasized “When the country is celebrating the Amrit Mahotsav of Independence, then this museum has come as a grand inspiration. In these 75 years, the country has seen many proud moments. The importance of these moments in the window of history is incomparable.”


The Prime Minister reiterated his appreciation of the contribution of all the governments since independence . He said “Every government formed in independent India has contributed in taking the country to the height it is at today. I have repeated this thing many times from Red Fort also.” The Prime Minister said that the museum has also become a living reflection of the shared heritage of each government”  Every Prime Minister of the country has contributed immensely towards achieving of the goals of constitutional democracy, the Prime Minister continued. “To remember them is to know the journey of independent India. People coming here will be familiar with the contribution of the former Prime Ministers of the country, their background, their struggles and creations”, he added.


The Prime Minister expressed pride in the fact that many of the Prime Ministers came from ordinary families. Fact of such leaders coming from extremely poor, farmer families reaching the position of the Prime Minister strengthens the faith in Indian democracy and its traditions, he said.  “It also gives confidence to the youth of the country that even a person born in a ordinary family can reach the highest positions in the democratic system of India”, said shri Modi. The Prime Minister hoped that the museum will expand the experience of the young generation. The more our youth knows about key occasions of Independent India, the more relevant will be their decisions, he said.


Noting India’s status as mother of democracy, the Prime Minister said “The great feature of India’s democracy is that it has been continuously changing with the passage of time. In every era, in every generation, there has been a continuous effort to make democracy more modern and empowered.” The Prime Minister said barring a couple of exceptions, India has a proud tradition of strengthening democracy in a democratic way. “That’s why we also have an obligation to keep strengthening democracy with our efforts”, he added. Highlighting the inclusive and accommodative elements of Indian culture, Shri Modi said that our democracy inspires us to accept modernity and new thoughts.


Recalling the rich history and prosperous era of India, the Prime Minister laid stress on spreading awareness about the correct picture of India’s heritage and present.  He said the government’s efforts to bring back the stolen heritage from abroad, celebrating places of the glorious heritage, preserving memories of the freedom fighters in places like Jalianwala Memorial, Panch Teerth commemorating Babasaheb, Freedom Fighter Museum, tribal history museum are steps in that direction


Commenting on the logo of the museum which has many hands holding the chakra, the Prime Minister said that the Chakra is the symbol of 24 hour continuity and resolve for prosperity and hard work. This resolve, consciousness and strength is going to define India’s development in the coming 25 years, The Prime Minister emphasized.


The Prime Minister underlined the changing world order and India’s growing status in that order. “Today, when a new world order is emerging, the world is looking at India with a hope and confidence, then India will also have to increase its efforts to rise up to the occasion”, Shri Naredra Modi said.

PM Modi inaugurates centenary year celebrations of Mathrubhumi


The Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi inaugurated centenary year celebrations of Mathrubhumi, via video conferencing today.


The Prime Minister paid tribute to all the leading personalities in the journey of the newspaper. He said “inspired by Mahatma Gandhi’s ideals, Mathrubhumi was born to strengthen India’s freedom struggle”.  He placed the publication in the glorious tradition of newspapers and periodicals founded all across India to unify the people of our nation against colonial rule. He gave examples of Lokmanya Tilak, Mahatma Gandhi, Gopal Krishna Gokhale, Shyamji Krishna Varma and others who used newspaper for  their work during India’s freedom struggle. He specially recalled the efforts of Shri M.P. Veerendra Kumar to uphold India’s democraticethos during the Emergency.


The Prime Minister said that while we did not have the opportunity to sacrifice our lives  during the freedom struggle for Swarajya“however, this Amrit Kaal gives us the opportunity to work towards a strong, developed and inclusive India”. He elaborated on the positive impact of the media on the campaigns of New India. He gave the example of the Swachh Bharat Mission where every media house took up this mission with great sincerity. Likewise, the media has played a very encouraging role  in popularising Yoga, fitness and BetiBachaoBetiPadhao.  “These are subjects beyond the domain of politics and political parties. They are about making a better nation  in the coming years”, he added.


The Prime Minister suggested media can amplify the efforts of highlighting  lesser known events of the freedom struggle  and unsung  freedom fighters and places associated with the struggle. Similarly, newspapers can be a great way to give platform for upcoming writers from non-media background and promote regional languages in areas where they are not spoken. 


Speaking about the world’s expectation from India in today’s day and age, the Prime Minister said that India defied the initial speculation of inability to handle the pandemic. For two years,  80 crore people  got access to free ration. 180 crore doses of vaccines have been administered, he informed. “Powered by India’s talented youth, our nation is moving towards Aatmanirbharta or self-reliance.  At the core of this principle is to make India an economic powerhouse that caters to domestic and global needs”, the Prime Minister said. Unprecedented  reforms were brought in,  which will boost economic progress. Production Linked Incentive Schemes  were introduced in different sectors  to encourage local enterprise. India’s start-up eco-system  has never been more vibrant, he added.In just the past 4 years,  the number of UPI transactions   have increased over 70 times. Rupees 110 Lakh crore  are being spent on a National Infrastructure Pipeline. PM Gatishakti  is going to make  infra creation and governance  more seamless, Shri Modi informed. “We are actively working  to ensure every village of India  has high-speed internet connectivity. The guiding principle of our efforts  is to ensure the future generations lead a better lifestyle than the present ones”, he said.
