Fatal traffic accident in Hung Hom

     Police are investigating a fatal traffic accident in Hung Hom this noon (December 31) in which an 86-year-old man died.

     At about noon, a special purpose vehicle (SPV) driven by a 42-year-old man was travelling along Man Yue Street towards To Kwa Wan. When approaching the junction of Man Yue Street and Ma Tau Wai Road, it reportedly knocked down the 86-year-old man who was crossing the road.

    Sustaining serious injuries, the man was rushed to Queen Elizabeth Hospital in unconscious state and was certified dead at 12.28pm.

     The SPV driver was arrested for dangerous driving causing death and is being detained for enquiries.

     Investigation by the Special Investigation Team of Traffic, Kowloon West is underway.

     Police are investigating a fatal traffic accident happened in Tsing Yi in the small hours today (November 4), in which a 72-year-old male taxi driver died.
      
     At 2.18am, a taxi driven by the 72-year-old man was travelling along Cheung Tsing Tunnel towards Yuen Long with two passengers on board. When leaving the tunnel, the taxi driver reportedly collapsed and the taxi lost control and rammed into a kerb.
      
     Sustaining no superficial injury, the driver was rushed to Yan Chai Hospital in unconscious state and certified dead at 7.38am. The two taxi passengers sustained no injuries.
    
     Investigation by the Special Investigation Team of Traffic, New Territories South is underway.

     Police are investigating a fatal traffic accident happened in Sha Tin today (October 7), in which a 41-year-old male motorcycle passenger died.
 
     At 1.09pm, a motorcycle driven by a 58-year-old man was travelling along Tai Po Road – Sha Tin towards Tai Po with a 41-year-old male passenger on board. Upon approaching near Sha Tin Rural Committee Road, it reportedly lost control and rammed into barriers.

     Sustaining serious head and multiple body injuries, the male passenger was rushed to Prince of Wales Hospital in unconscious state and certified dead at 2.29pm. The male driver sustained head and multiple body injuries and was sent to Prince of Wales Hospital in semi-conscious state.

     Investigation by the Special Investigation Team of Traffic, New Territories South is underway.

     Police are investigating a fatal traffic accident happened in Tin Shui Wai this afternoon (September 12), in which an 85-year-old female pedestrian died.
                     
     At 3.35pm, a light goods vehicle driven by a 40-year-old man was travelling along Tin Sau Road towards Tin Ying Road. When approaching Tin Yat Estate, it reportedly knocked down the woman who was crossing the road.
      
     Sustaining serious head and leg injuries, the woman was rushed to Tin Shui Wai Hospital in unconscious state and was certified dead at 4.06pm.
                           
     The driver was arrested for dangerous driving causing death and is being detained for enquiries.
      
     Investigation by the Special Investigation Team of Traffic, New Territories North is underway.

     Police are investigating a fatal traffic accident happened in Sau Mau Ping this afternoon (August 14), in which a 79-year-old male pedestrian died.
                
     At around 3.20pm, a light goods vehicle driven by a 41-year-old man was travelling along Ngau Tau Kok Road towards Kwun Tong Road. When approaching near 152 Ngau Tau Kok Road, it reportedly knocked down the 79-year-old man who was crossing the road.
 
     Sustaining serious head injuries, the male pedestrian was rushed to United Christian Hospital in unconscious state and was certified dead at 3.50pm.
                      
     The driver was arrested for dangerous driving causing death and is being detained for enquiries.
 
     Investigation by the Special Investigation Team of Traffic, Kowloon East is underway.
