Plena Global Holdings Inc.  (“Plena Global” or the “Company”) is pleased to announce that on July 23rd, 2021, Colombian President Iván Duque Marquez signed a new master decree for the cannabis industry.  

The new decree replaces the existing decree 613 (2017) and establishes a legal framework for the export of cannabis flowers for medical and scientific purposes. The decree also regulates the domestic commercialization of CBD in a range of OTC wellness products and encourages the development of a domestic CBD-infused food and beverage market. There are also important changes in the use of cannabinoids for veterinary use opening yet another lucrative product category.  

The changes follow months of successful lobbying by members of the Asocolcanna – the Colombian Cannabis Association. 

According to data of the German Federal Institute for Drugs and Medical Devices (BfArM) in 2020 Germany imported over 6 tons of dry medical cannabis flower for pharmacy dispensing. Sales of dry medical cannabis flowers are legal in many countries, including Australia, New Zealand, Canada, United Kingdom, Portugal, Czech Republic, Italy, Luxembourg, Malta, Poland.
