HYBE is bringing the Weverse Con Festival to India, marking the first time the global music spectacle will make its international debut outside South Korea.

For legions of Indian K-pop superfans, the moment has been a long time coming. The ground first started shifting when HYBE established its presence in India, adding momentum to an already fast-growing K-pop ecosystem. The excitement only intensified when the company launched a nationwide talent search to form a homegrown Indian girl group, signalling that its ambitions for the market extended beyond touring artists and fan engagement.

Before the official announcement, a cryptic Instagram reel by HYBE India featuring Tomorrow X Together (TXT) lightsticks set to BTS’s “DNA” sent fans into overdrive. Social media quickly filled with theories that TXT or BTS could be coming to India in 2027. The frenzy was fuelled by the lingering disappointment after BTS’s recently announced Arirang World Tour omitted India from its initial list of stops, while promising additional global dates at a later stage.

While a full-fledged BTS tour date remains up in the air, fans now have another major milestone event to look forward to.

The two-day festival is set for March 27-28, 2027, in New Delhi. Designed as a bridge between digital fandom and real-world experiences, Weverse Con Festival India says it will bring together leading K-pop acts alongside artists from India’s diverse music landscape. And while the music may be the main draw, the festival will also celebrate fan culture, with interactive experiences, brand pop-ups and cross-cultural collaborations woven into the weekend.

“Weverse Con Festival India marks a new chapter in our ‘multi-home, multi-genre’ strategy,” HYBE CEO Jason Jaesang Lee said in a statement, describing the move as part of the company’s long-term commitment to India as a key market for global growth. Zooil Yang, President of Weverse Company, echoed the sentiment, saying the goal is to transform the digital community where millions of fans connect every day into a large-scale, shared live experience.

Co-produced and promoted by BookMyShow Live, the festival is a part of HYBE’s broader strategy for India. . Through its regional arm, HYBE India says it wants to continue to invest in discovering local talent and creating content rooted in India while still being relevant for global audiences.

What sets Weverse Con apart from a typical music festival is its mix of nostalgia and next-generation star power. Past lineups in Seoul have united K-pop legends such as BoA, Rain and J.Y. Park with some of today’s biggest names, including Seventeen, TXT, Enhypen, and LE SSERAFIM. Weverse Con Festival’s debut Indian edition signals how deeply K-pop has embedded itself in one of the world’s most passionate fan markets and how seriously HYBE is betting on its future.

Further details on tickets and the lineup are awaited.
