Hong Kong Customs spots believed case of prohibited importing of animal (with image)

Hong Kong Customs today (September 13) spotted a thought case of prohibited importing of animal at the Lok Ma Chau Spur Line Control Point. A thought unlawfully imported live feline with an overall projected market price of about $25,000 was taken.
Custom-mades officers today obstructed a 61-year-old inbound Mainland male traveler at the Arrival Hall of the stated Control Point. Upon evaluation, a live feline was taken from his individual valuables, and he was consequently apprehended. The case was turned over to the Agriculture, Fisheries and Conservation Department for follow-up examination.
Customizeds advises the general public that importing animals into Hong Kong without a legitimate authorization is an offense.
Under the Rabies Regulation, anyone condemned of unlawfully importing animals, carcasses or animal items is responsible to an optimum fine of $50,000 and jail time for one year.
