The market has witnessed a positive CAGR of close to 6% in terms of sales volume of industrial lubricants during the review period 2013-2018.
Growth of the Manufacturing Sector: Indonesia witnessed strong growth in the manufacturing sector due to expansion of several industries including mining, construction, metal and steel production, marine, and aerospace, oil & gas, power generation, road construction, automobile manufacturing, and others. GDP generated from manufacturing activities increased from IDR 2,007 trillion in 2013 to IDR 2,947 trillion in 2018 at a CAGR of 8% during the review period. Increase in Number of Construction Projects in the Country: The number of construction projects in Indonesia increased from 131,080 in 2013 to in 160,576 in 2018. In recent years, construction activity has been majorly concentrated in Jakarta, surrounding provinces of Banten and West Java. It was witnessed that the highest demanded lubricant by the construction & mining sector was hydraulic oil which is usually ordered in bulk quantities. Construction and The mining sector contributed the highest share to the total sales volume (demand) of industrial lubricants in Indonesia in 2018.
Market Competition: Indonesia Industrial Lubricants market players are highly competitive and compete on parameters such as product prices, the distribution network, product quality, product customization and terms of payment offered to the clients in the country.
