Cargill invested in potato starch production in Denmark

February 2018, AKV Langholt AmbA, a cooperative owned by 160 potato growers in Denmark, produces potato starch and potato protein as well as by-products. Cargill and AKV Langholt AmbA, its Danish potato starch partner, would invest in a new potato starch production unit at the Langholt facility in Denmark. The potato starches produced there will expand Cargill’s SimPure portfolio of functional native starches. Minneapolis, Minnesota, U.S.-based Cargill launched the SimPure brand, which are starches that helped deliver simple ingredient labels and provide process tolerance, shelf life and storage stability, according to the company.
