World’s Longest Toilet Queue organized at Bhopal

WaterAid India organized World's Longest Toilet Queue on 20th March at a community Toilet at T. T Nagar Chouraha,

It is part of a global mobilization of bringing together thousands of campaigners from across Madhya Pradesh to demand real change in access to safe water and sanitation. The World’s Longest Toilet Queue is a mass mobilization event and an attempt towards making a Guinness World Record by bringing together campaigners on World Water Day for demonstrating a concern on the issue.

Mr. Mathew Luckose, Regional Manager, WaterAid India says “The aim of world's longest toilet queue is to get the world to unite around a single mass campaign action. There is a global crisis in sanitation and over 4,000 children under five years old die every day because they lack toilets and water,” .

In Madhya Pradesh queues are organized in 7 districts and 3 cities organized by WaterAid partners. It is envisaged that this queues will not only create awareness amongst the masses but will demand action from local, national and international political leaders to put sanitation and water issues at the top of the global agenda.

More than 1400 people queued in Bhopal. People from media, colleges and slum people attended the program.
