Kaira appreciates efficiency of country’s intelligence agencies
Minister for Information and Broadcasting Qamar Zaman Kaira Thursday said that country’s intelligence agencies are working efficiently in their capacity and it was on the basis of their efforts that major successes were achieved in anti-militancy operation. Talking to a private television channel he said, the criminals break the regular state system to implement their nefarious designs world across and same is happening in Pakistan too.
He said that no state in the world was able to have foolproof check on the activities of criminals so it was unjust to term the intelligence agencies of the country responsible for terrorist incident.
Terrorism is a global phenomena and unfortunately Pakistan was worst hit with it he said adding rather than fixing responsibilities on each other the stakeholders should join their efforts to combat it.
Kaira said that “we should concentrate on correcting the situation at home rather than indulging in practice of blame game against others”.
He said that PPP leadership wants good relations with its neighbor including India but at the same time it wants the amicable solution of all the contentious issues particularly the issue of Kashmir.
Confidence between India and Pakistan would be restored only when the issue of Kashmir is settled amicably, he said.
To a question the Minister said that Pakistan wants a stable Afghanistan because it was in the interest of country.
He said the stability in Afghanistan was related to stability in Pakistan.
To another question the minister said that government was fully conscious about its post operation role in the affected areas adding after defeating the militancy the nation should have to focus on the improvement of living conditions of the peoples in militancy hit areas.
