On Monday, the Bolivarian Government of Venezuela endorsed a memorandum of understanding to establish a political consultation mechanism between the Venezuelan Ministry of People's Power for Foreign Affairs and Cyprus Ministry of Foreign Affairs, thus, strengthening ties of cooperation with this European country.

Venezuelan Minister of Foreign Affairs, Nicolas Maduro Moros, and his counterpart from Cyprus, Markos Kyprianou, signed the agreement to hold regular consultations in order to evaluate bilateral relations and exchange their point of view regarding international issues of common interest and their impact on the world scene.

Likewise, the agreement will make easier for both ministries to carry out bilateral consultations aimed to coordinate their common interest issues, specially, on politics, economy, trade, energy, science, tourism and culture.

The memorandum of understanding was endorsed in Caracas with the attendance of the Vice-minister of Venezuela to Europe, Alejandro Fleming.

Fleming stated that Minister Kyprianou's visit to Venezuela shows the interest of Cyprus Government to move forward and strengthen ties with the Bolivarian Government of Venezuela, which is the first country he is visiting of a Latin American tour.
