White lies by Pakistani President to cover hostile fire on US troops, diplomatic flirting

Political Desk
Pakistan President Asif Ali Zardari restored to a whooping lie to cover the incident of firing NATO helicopters. He said that Pakistan’s security forces fired “flare” to signal to the NATO helicopters that they had crossed the border line into Pakistani territory. They are flares just to make sure that they know that they have crossed the border line.

He also said the border is often difficult, a comment Secretary Rice corroborated by saying “yes, the border is very, very unclear.” However, the truth is very different.

Anyone who has flown across Pakistan-Afghanistan border will find that the entire border is lit for differentiation. The lights are so bright that even civilian planes can see them while flying across Pakistan. Even that that height, the stretch of tens of kilometers can be seen on air. There is no that helicopters would have missed that and would need a 'flare' to indicate the border.

While US Secretary Rice paid rich tributes to martyred former prime minister Benazir Bhutto and expressed her profound sadness over the tragic assassination of the Pakistani leader in December 2007, Zardari had different antics.

Zardari who had a reputation of being a casanova in the youth acted in the same fashion. Barely after Benazir's remains have been put to rest, he openly flirted with Vice President candidate Sarah Palin. He said "You look so gorgeous. Now, I know why the whole of America is crazy about you." He also did not let go of her hands for a long time.

Zardari also said that "If he's (a companion is) insisting, I might hug." However, there was no one who was insisting. It was just in Zardari's twisted mind. Palin brushed aside the 'opportunity'.
