NHRDN to Undertake Annual Rating and Accreditation of B-Schools

The National Human Resources Development Network (NHRDN), an association of HR professionals committed to promote HRD movement in the country announced that it will undertake an independent Annual Rating and Ranking of
B-Schools across India. This was announced at the concluding session of the three day 16th Annual Conference of the association recently at Hyderabad.

National HRD Network is committed to the development of human resources through education, training, research and experience sharing. The network is managed by HR professionals in an honorary capacity, stemming from their interest in contributing to the HR profession. It has 12,500 members spread across 30 chapters in India.

In a press note issued in city, Mr. S Y Siddiqui, National President NHRDN & Chief Operating Officer Administration (HR, Finance, IT & COSL), Maruti Suzuki India Limited said, “The NHRDN Annual Rating and Accreditation of B-Schools will be launched in April 2013 would be a step towards identifying the gap between Industry and academia and then NHRDN will work towards bridging the gap with the next step of accreditation of B-Schools. This would provide authentic information to Corporates, B-Schools, Students and parents.”

Mr. Siddiqui added, “Its NHRDN’s constant endeavor of strengthening the HRD movement in the country and in developing and maintaining the highest standards of professional excellence in HR. He also emphasized that key HR challenges in future would entail engaging and retaining Gen-Y, building positive Employee Relations, Building the country’s Talent and Skill pool and promoting Corporate Governance, sustainability & inclusiveness

The association instituted three NHRDN Udai Pareek’s Student Scholarships of Rs. 1 lakh each to encourage HR students. The awardees in the first year were from XLRI - Jamshedpur, TISS – Mumbai & XIM – Bhubaneswar. Besides, it introduced the concept of “National Professor” where eminent academicians and practitioners will voluntarily contribute 12 mandays in a year and help build capability of HR students at not so established Business Schools. The successful MDI-NHRDN PGHRM Program in tie up with Management Development Institute, Gurgaon to strengthen professional HR education will now be extended to IIM, Ranchi.

NHRDN also announced that it will grow its membership base from the current 12000 to over 20,000-plus strong network, build a National Headquarter and Chapter Office at Hyderabad and a set up a Learning Centre in Haryana by 2015-16
