New Delhi, February 6, 2012: An MDP on ‘Excellence in Stores Operations (ESOps) today started at Jagan Institute of Management Studies (JIMS), Rohini Sector -5 campus. The two day workshop is being organized by the Retailers Association of India (RAI) in association with JIMS.
The key speakers of today’s sessions were Rakesh Narula, President T&D, SSIPL Retail Limited; Sathish Bhat, Partner – B S Nagesh Consults; and Ashmit Alag, Director of Education, Academy of Applied Arts.
The workshop provided a learning platform for the Retail executives from various Retail organizations as well as for the students of PGDM (Retail Marketing & Management) on various specialized operations of Retail. The MDP had a rich course of module including Store Manager - a mini CEO: Understanding Roles & Responsibilities, Managing Store Profitability, Instore Visual Merchandising, Local Store Marketing & Catchment Area Analysis and Understanding Buying & Merchandising & Inventory Management in the Store
Speaking on the occasion Dr. J.K. Goyal, Director, JIMS said, “JIMS is totally committed to the generation of quality education in management. Dr.Sumesh Raizada, Dean (Retail & Marketing), JIMS, while talking to this reporter stated that “Indian retail market has experienced high growth over the last decade with a gradual shift towards modern retailing formats. Today's retailers face a number of challenges in delivering customer delight and maintaining customer loyalty. Lack of well-trained employees is one among those challenges. Having an intelligent employee practicing the right systems and processes is indeed the cutting edge for any retailers. Today we had a fruitful session pertaining to these issues at the seminar.”
Sajjad Shaikh, National Head - Retail (CS), Aircel Limited and Pooja Makhija, MD, Fashion Futures Ltd. will be the key speakers for tomorrow sessions which deal with different aspects of store management. A film on customer service will be also shown tomorrow.
