Indian Company Sets World Record in Africa

KIBOKO Group of Companies today created the world's largest carpet from medicated
soaps. Witnessed, judged and recorded by representatives of LIMCA BOOK OF RECORDS,
this carpet was made from 350,000 bars of soap which will now be distributed among
school going kids. The record not only marked the company's 20th anniversary but
also the launch of a health and sanitation campaign covering over 200 schools
across Uganda.

Speaking about this achievement and the company's ongoing CSR initiatives, Mr.
Sanjeev Gupta, CEO, Kiboko enterprise, said "It is a moment of great pride for us.
The youth here are affected by generally preventable diseases like cholera and
diarrhea which can be avoided by simply following basic hygiene habits, like washing
hands regularly with soap and taking a bath daily." Committed to making a
difference, the Group's social responsibility intends to contribute to 'Health and
Education', which are the two priority sectors for most developing nations.

Arthy Muthanna Singh, senior editor, Limca Book of Records, said Kiboko Group's
record was first of its kind. She declared that it will be recorded as the world's
largest soap carpet.

"This is like a sea of soaps. I have never seen so many soaps at a time," Rebecca
Kadaga, speaker of Ugandan Parliament, said while referring to the soaps spread on
the shores of Lake Victoria on Friday.

Kadaga lauded the contributions of Indian entrepreneurs and business people in
Ugandan economy. "Kiboko have played a very important role in Ugandan economy. They
are creating employment opportunities and contributing to the economy directly and
indirectly," she said.

Indian companies like Kiboko are setting trends in social responsibilities in Africa
and Kiboko's effort has been endorsed by the Ministry of Education and one of the
highest government office of The Rt. Hon Speaker of the PARLIAMENT OF UGANDA.

The celebration witnessed a stellar performance by Grace Nakimera who composed and
executed a corporate anthem for Kiboko Group of companies. The afro pop singer and
song writer delivered Hindi lines with ease as she enthralled the audience at Speke
Resort Munyonyo

Kiboko Group of companies has diversified interest in Manufacturing and Distribution
representing multiple sectors including Pharmaceutical, FMCG, and Consumer Durables
& Engineering Projects for some global brands like Procter & Gamble, Phillips etc.

The Group Chairman, Mr. Chuni Shah, noted "KIBOKO is grateful to the Government of
Uganda and its welcoming people for all their love and affection in these 20 years.
As Uganda ushers into post 50 Years of independence in 2012 on a fresh note with
commendable milestones that include Stephen Kiprotich wining the Olympic Gold in
2012 and KIBOKO Groups has set a World record for the country.'
