“Beti Bachao Beti Padhao” is not a mere tagline for Haryana. The Chief Minister of Haryana, Mr. Manohar Lal on 10th Dec, 2016 inaugurated the Golden Jubilee E-Learning Centre established in Gurgaon by DLF Foundation and Municipal Corporation of Gurgaon.

The Golden Jubilee E-learning Skill Centre is a joint initiative of the DLF Foundation and Government of Haryana. Located at the Government Girls College in Gurgaon catering to nearly 8000 girl students, the DLF Foundation run Centre provides education on the online platform to the girl students by offering courses from world’s leading educational institutes like Harvard, MIT, University of Michigan, Carnegie Mellon etc. While sitting in their colleges, through the online courses they can learn and get certified from globally recognized universities and institutions established in U.S.A, England, Singapore etc. It provides the girl students an opportunity to enhance their knowledge and get a global perspective .The first of its kind initiative in entire Haryana, the State of the Art E-Learning Centre has been jointly established by DLF Foundation and Municipal Corporation of Gurgaon and is equipped with high tech computers, LED’s, Projectors and all accessory equipment. With MCG providing the infrastructure, the running cost of the Centre is being funded and managed by DLF Foundation, the philanthropic arm of the DLF Group.

Inaugurating the Centre, the Chief Minister of Haryana Sh. Manohar Lal Khattar said while applauding the initiative stated “It is my belief that if girls are provided international education through the online platform, where they can enhance their knowledge as well as build on their zest for learning, it will open up avenues for them both nationally and internationally and there cannot be better empowerment than this. If we can open more state of the art Centres like this across the country our India will change.

Through this Centre, the girls are not only able to secure international diplomas and certification from world’s leading universities in a wide range of courses , but are constantly being counseled and groomed by expert counselors engaged by the DLF Foundation. The complete cost of international certification is being borne by the DLF Foundation so that there is no financial liability on the girl students coming from urban and rural parts of Haryana. Today, technology has seeped in and enabled the accessibility of data in innumerable ways. Keeping pace with the same, E-Learning has numerous tools such as web lectures, online classes, PDF’s to deliver information.

Mr. Vinay Sahni, CEO, DLF Foundation briefed the CM on the vision of the E- Learning programme and the tremendous impact it is expected to make on the learning and the career development of girls in Haryana.

Ms Gayatri Paul, Director, DLF Foundation, while introducing the girl students undergoing the course, briefed the Chief Minister both on the profile of girls coming for training and also the various reputed international universities offering courses and certifications through the online platform.
