New Delhi, 15th November 2016.- The seventh edition of Roca´s international design contest, jumpthegap has been launched. Premiered last week at an event held during the Dubai Design Week 2016, the contest for young architects traverses the growth path of the architecture industry around the globe by encouraging the potential talent in this field. Being promoted for the first time in India, this year’s edition is very special as it coincides with Roca’s 100th Anniversary celebration (1917-2017).
This competition, promoted by Roca in collaboration with the BCD Barcelona Design Centre offers an international platform where architecture and design professionals and students from around the world may display their innovative proposals for the bathroom space.
Coinciding with the celebration of Roca´s centenary in 2017, the contest features important novelties such as the appointment of the German architect Patrik Schumacher, Principal of Zaha Hadid Architects, as President of the jury. Recognised for his architectural projects, he is also the author of the two volumes “The Autopoiesis of Architecture”, developing his professional career around the concept “Parametricism 2.0”, among other activities.
One other novelty in this year´s edition, which presents a new graphic image, is the increase in the prize to €10,000 in each of the categories (professional and student), as well as the incorporation of the We Are Water Foundation special sustainability prize worth €6,000.
